GROUPS & EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS
Groups nudge us towards personal reflection and positive change
Studies show that the right group can be incredibly powerful for healing and wellbeing. Incorporating psychoeducation, evidence based information, humor, and deep personal exploration groups and educational programs can help individuals improve their own self care practices and increase their abilities to deal with stress. Sarah co-lead weekly meetings for Postpartum Support Virginia at Virginia Hospital Center, Inova Alexandria Hospital and others for several years. Her group for women looking at their relationship with alcohol was covered in Counseling Today.
Homefront Moms
Postpartum & Early Motherhood
Support for National Security Families
Early motherhood can feel isolating—especially when your partner serves in a high-demand federal or national security role. Long hours can add strain during the postpartum period and early years of parenting. Homefront Moms is a therapist-led support group for postpartum moms and moms of toddlers in the DMV whose partners work in federal, intelligence, military, or national security positions. This confidential, welcoming space offers connection and practical support with others who truly understand this lifestyle. Online and In-Person group. Led by Sarah Moore, LPC, Postpartum Specialist.
