Thoughtful Therapy for Complex Lives

I work with thoughtful, high-achieving women in Washington, DC and Northern Virginia who find themselves feeling overwhelmed, unsettled, or stuck—often while continuing to function very well on the outside. It is a privilege to witness women move from confusion and pain into clarity, groundedness, and self-trust, so they can return to the lives they’ve built and the relationships that matter most to them. Therapy here is a confidential, steady place to speak honestly, reflect deeply, and move forward with intention.

A Thoughtful, Private Approach to Lasting Change

You will find my practice to be small, warm, and private. At the heart of my work is helping women reconnect with themselves at a deeper level—so change feels meaningful, not forced. My goal is to support substantive, lasting shifts across multiple areas of your life, from relationships and emotional wellbeing to the way you relate to your body and your day-to-day experiences. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a practical, thoughtful framework to help make that change possible.

CBT is integral to my work because it helps you understand how your beliefs shape your emotional life, and how those emotions influence the choices you make every day. Together, we clarify patterns that no longer serve you and develop tools you can continue to use long after therapy ends—so what you gain here remains with you, well beyond our work together.

Anxiety and Depression, Treated with Care and Clarity

At times in our work together, we may find that anxiety, depression, or a combination of the two is contributing to how you’re feeling. These experiences can be deeply unsettling—especially for women who are used to functioning well and carrying a great deal. The good news is that anxiety and depression are highly treatable, and meaningful relief is possible.

Using evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), we work to understand what’s happening beneath the surface and develop practical, personalized strategies to help you feel more steady, clear, and like yourself again. One of the most meaningful parts of my work is witnessing women regain a sense of confidence, connection, and ease as these symptoms begin to lift.

With over five decades in the Washington, DC area, I have long-standing relationships with trusted local providers, including primary care physicians and specialists. When additional support is helpful, I collaborate closely with these professionals to ensure your care is thoughtful and well-coordinated.

It would be an honor to work with you. You don’t have to carry everything on your own—and therapy can be a steady place to set some of that weight down.

You may have some questions about working with me…

Do you see men?

Yes. While my practice has a particular focus on women’s therapy, I also work with men as individuals and partners, tailoring our approach to each client’s goals and circumstances.

How often do you meet with clients?

Most clients begin with weekly sessions, which allows us to build momentum and address what’s bringing you in with care and consistency. During periods of increased stress, we can meet more frequently if that feels supportive. As you begin to feel more like yourself again, we’ll reassess together—whether that means bringing therapy to a thoughtful close, or transitioning to bi-weekly or monthly sessions for continued support and reflection.

Do you see clients in person?

Yes. I offer in-person sessions on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at my Arlington office, located at 1530 Wilson Boulevard, and on Thursdays in Spring Valley, a quiet residential neighborhood in Northwest Washington, DC, near American University and the Palisades. I also see clients virtually throughout the week using a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform, allowing for continuity of care and scheduling flexibility.

When do you see clients?

I see clients Monday through Friday. For your convenience, you can view current availability and request appointments directly through the website. Laura Williams, our Office Manager, is also available to help you find a time that fits your schedule and to answer any scheduling questions.

Do you offer a free initial consultation?

Yes. I offer a complimentary initial consultation so you can ask questions and get a sense of what it would be like to work together before deciding whether therapy feels like the right next step.

How do I schedule a free initial consultation?

You can request a complimentary consultation by completing the form on this page or by scheduling directly through the website. Our team will follow up promptly to confirm next steps.

What is the cost for therapy?

Sessions are $250 for a 50-minute appointment.

Will therapy be covered by my insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider. Many clients receive partial reimbursement by submitting a superbill to their insurance company, which we are happy to provide. Some clients also choose to use Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) or Health Savings Accounts (HSA) to pay for therapy.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

Yes. I have a 48-hour cancellation policy. Appointments canceled with less than 48 hours’ notice are subject to the full session fee.

How do I prepare for a session?

Many clients find it helpful to give themselves a few minutes before and after sessions to pause—whether through quiet reflection, journaling, light stretching, or simply taking a breath. Turning off distractions such as phones, work notifications, and other electronics can also help you stay fully present. For virtual sessions, choosing a private, comfortable space allows you to settle in and get the most from our time together.
